Holiday for young and old

Salecina is open to anyone – for young and old, individual travelers, families and groupsPeople who share the importance for this to be a space for politically interested left-wing people in Europe will feel most at ease here.

The common languages spoken are German and Italian. Each member of the team is bilingual, as are all the information leaflets. Guests will always find a way to communicate with each other and to make new friends.

Children tend to manage easily to overcome language barriers and to make new friends. The house and its surroundings offer numerous opportunities for play – there are hardly any limits to what one can do.

Guest participation around the house

It may be difficult to convey the concept of guest participation and how this creates a special understanding and atmosphere in the house. Easier to experience this yourselves! For more than 40 years this concept has been successful, which is due to the fact that guests take responsibility in the running of the house, be this cleaning, cooking, washing up, coordinating the tasks etc.

The thought of being served by others was abhorrent to the founders of Salecina Theo and Amalie Pinkus. To have a holiday centre based on the ideals of guest involvement is exceptional, even amongst other alternative hotels.

In favour of the environment

We try our best in reducing emissions and damage to the environment, by using regional products, renewable energy sources and separating our rubbish, part of which is supplied to the new bio-gas plant of Upper Engadin.

Salecina has been awarded a certificate by the leading sustainability agency «ibex fairstay», and received the maximum possible award “Platinum”.

Travel tends to have a significant impact on the environment – car or plane journeys are worse than travel by public transport. Therefore, if you were to travel by car, please share or offer a lift.
